Last week I ran across a refreshing Bible reading plan. It is called Through the Bible in 90 days. What impressed me was the fact that there will be no creed to follow or predetermined set of beliefs to adhere to as we open up God's Word. To me this is a breath of fresh air in spirit because gone is the staleness of day old bread. It's like baking bread every day and tasting the freshly ground whole grain goodness. It brings to life the hope of God intervening in my life today. Not the same as he did yesterday or in the way he might tomorrow---but today. Just like in the Lord's prayer (from the scriptures). "Give us TODAY our daily bread." I recall that during the meal in the upper room just before Christ's Passionate display of Love for the entire universe---he mentioned his followers should assimilate his body.
So, I am excited to begin this process of dining daily on the Word of God alone. Not anything from man----other than the words the bible writers selected to use in their humanity. I like the idea of quickly reading through the whole Bible so as to get an overall big picture of the Spirit's leading through many men. A multitude of counselors as Solomon spoke of. I think there is wisdom in that.
